For over two decades, the Nexus Guardians have kept both the Nexus and the citizens of Arcanum safe. Their job has involved fighting the monsters the Nexus has attracted to town, policing the mages who would misuse the heightened magickal energies in Arcanum and, most importantly, keeping the Nexus itself hidden away, a secret known only to them and a few trusted others.

But now, a threat to the Nexus itself has changed the rules. Now, rather than hunting down the latest monster or keeping tabs on out-of-control magick, the team must protect the Nexus from an enemy intent on taking it for himself. An enemy with powerful magick, technology, and far more information about the Guardians themselves than they've ever imagined.
